This variety is developed and grown mainly for harvesting the young flower stems and buds for vegetable uses. This variety has relatively small leaves but can produce flowers all year round in the subtropical and tropical areas. Young flower stems/buds are picked for vegetable use before flowers begin to blossom. For getting the best eating quality, do not delay the harvesting time. Plant's performance may be affected by the weather conidtions and the flowering may be slower in the cold climates. Chinese Leek Flowers are sold as a premium vegetable at the Orient markets and are used as a delicacy in the Oriental cooking.
